Taylor describes Colby as being the nicest and smartest of the Varia crew, and a maternal figure to them. Taylor's survival of the Varia crash is attributed to the swift actions of Colby who pushed Taylor into an escape pod and went to assist the other crew moments before the crash. Unfortunately, Colby dies in the crash of the Varia.
